How it all began...
Prayer Center Dedicated October 23, 2005
Pastor James D. Allen, former Senior Pastor of Dayspring of 18½ years, sought God's plan for the land surrounding Dayspring. "I just felt, and the leadership felt, that the first building placed on the additional 70 acres the Lord has given us should be a prayer center," Pastor Allen said. "We need to confirm in our hearts the priority of prayer.”
As in the Bible, the Lord gave Moses specific instructions to build a tabernacle which was to include a brazen altar for priests to make burnt offerings and a bronze laver for them to wash their hands and feet before entering the Holy of Holies. Midwest Church Construction, along with the pastoral staff of Dayspring, based the Prayer Center design loosely on the Old Testament tabernacle and temple. Visitors pass through the inner court and then enter the "Holy Place".
Future plans include symbolic likenesses of the brazen altar and bronze laver. As the number of Christian volunteers from all denominations grows, the aspiration of being open 24/7 will come to fruition. If you desire to become involved, please contact the church office. |
