How it all began...

Prayer Center Dedicated October 23, 2005

Pastor James D. Allen, former Senior Pastor of Dayspring of 18½ years, sought God's plan for the land surrounding Dayspring. "I just felt, and the leadership felt, that the first building placed on the additional 70 acres the Lord has given us should be a prayer center," Pastor Allen said. "We need to confirm in our hearts the priority of prayer.”

As in the Bible, the Lord gave Moses specific instructions to build a tabernacle which was to include a brazen altar for priests to make burnt offerings and a bronze laver for them to wash their hands and feet before entering the Holy of Holies. Midwest Church Construction, along with the pastoral staff of Dayspring, based the Prayer Center design loosely on the Old Testament tabernacle and temple. Visitors pass through the inner court and then enter the "Holy Place".

Future plans include symbolic likenesses of the brazen altar and bronze laver. As the number of Christian volunteers from all denominations grows, the aspiration of being open 24/7 will come to fruition. If you desire to become involved, please contact the church office.

Hear My Prayer
Stones presented beginning on April 17, 2005
Altar Plaque

Each stone was presented by an individual while recalling a life changing encounter with God and believing that God will answer prayer and continue to fulfill His promises. As an altar, it represents the cry of His people to increase His Presence in our midst and to hear our prayer. May each one who enters this Prayer Center discover the Presence of God, the Power of His Love in Jesus Christ, and His Promises fulfilled through His grace.

The Lord spoke, "You have built an altar of stones outside of the house,
now build me a living stone altar inside the house."

"And coming to Him as a living stone rejected by men, but choice and precious in the sight of God. You also, as living stones, are being bulit up as a spiritual house for a Holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 2:4-5

Upon hearing the word from the Lord, people have volunteered to form a living stone altar. Once a week for one hour they came to the Prayer Center to pray and offer up spiritual sacrifices of praise and worship.
